In 2014, Finca Zapote has earned #1 place with their Geisha over Finca Esmeralda in Panama, at SCAA Rain Forest Alliance competition, by receiving 91.90 points. Julio Melendez has a pristine wet mill, well-manicured shade grown coffee production and decades of cupping data for specific lots. Additionally, Mr. Melendez records soil test and weather data related to each lot, which enables him to evaluate correlations between production data and cup quality. 150 acres of beautiful farm. Only 5% of their land is being used to cultivate Geisha.
